How to Play, Matey!

Arr, gather round ye landlubbers. Here be the code o' the sea. Learn it well or feed the sharks.

Add to your phone’s home screen

Open dash.captainscove.co.uk in your phone’s browser, not inside a messaging app.

iPhone (Safari)

  1. Tap Share. If it is hidden, open the browser menu first.
  2. Scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen. If missing, choose Edit Actions to add it.
  3. Keep Open as Web App switched on if shown, then tap Add.

Android (Chrome)

  1. Tap the three-dot menu.
  2. Choose Add to Home screen or Install app, whichever appears.
  3. Tap Add or Install to confirm.

Tap the pirate icon on your home screen to play. An internet connection is still required. Menu wording may vary by phone.

Jump, ye scallywag!

SPACEor↑orWor🖱️ Tap

Smack the key on the beat o' the song and yer pirate leaps. Every obstacle be placed on a beat, so listen to the music, savvy?

Hold it down and ye'll keep hoppin' every time ye land.

Swim like a fish in the deep

SPACE↑W

When ye plunge under the sea, every tap be a stroke. Tap often to rise, tap less to sink at an angle.

Dodge the coral below and the jellyfish above. Stay in the gap between 'em, ye bilge rat!

Beasts o' the briny

  • Spikes, crates and cannonballs: jump over 'em.
  • Kraken tentacles: taller than spikes, so time yer jump true.
  • Anchor pillars: too tall to jump alone. Use a gold arrow or a pad.
  • Pulsing gold arrows (x2): double tap! Tap again in mid air when ye reach the arrow for a second leap.
  • Launch pads: they fling ye skyward, no tap needed.
  • Gulls, sharks, ships, bats and ghosts: they move, but they keep clear if ye follow the beat.

Green flags and return codes

Pass a green flag and ye'll respawn there when ye perish (if checkpoints be on).

Hit Save in a game to get a return code. Paste it on the title screen to sail back to that spot.

Bring yer crew

Two pirates can take turns on one device. Pick 2P, name yer mates and choose how many tries each gets.

Or press Share to show a QR code. Yer crew scans it and sails with ye live, respawnin' at yer side when they sink.
